Poetry || SubmissionsPoems by Shimon PalmerMating Like two timid spiders daintily toying with each other's legs in midair circling, bouncing off one another's feet dangling from a thin silk thread, the hesitantly eager minds of man & woman attracted allure, approach, interact & connect, mingling like the cigarette smoke over our heads as they set out, packed & unforgiven on the eternal Warpath to the greater, most Splendid bliss of all Supernal Unities. (untitled) Night and the platform teems with memories, curling smoke of obscure feelings wreathes the lone white silhouette standing in the dim dome of darkness a beauty basked distantly, midnight's skylight sun relating through the mist touches the pale phantom, alone as if in prayer the lips form an incantation, parting in purity's sublime question, heightening it tenses the raised palms of entreaty the subtle silence of bewilderment swells with deep quiet meaning, enhancing the scene invisablely- an uncertain image lightly toying with my mind, an unknown pitch of infinity settles like the rising beatitude filling this dream, this heavy uncalled for visitation enrapturing me, leaving me blank as an unwritten chapter, a delicate quest unanswered, grounded by lack of substance- still softly probing but I know this breathing paradox to be Truth, perfect as it is unattainable. Dance of Allure Weave & unravel this speeding pungent tapestry of attraction string it through deep with incandescent pearls, soft glowing beads of muted mystery- the dizzying spin sparkles, swirling a blurred cocoon of intrigue arrows fire, nimbly pass you in a flurry, twanging determined into every crevice but the center they seem to point & their aim is clear as they pin you to the wall- It's you that I want. Alienation A strange dark bitterness has taken root within me in a tangled shadow realm too deep to delve it echoes forth in eerie tones like the silent music of an open grave a solemnly cool vapor from below, it rises like the burden of a rainy morning's mist obscuring & permeating all with it's abstract weight, purging, seeking saturating the mind with it's pungent density, who's distant hallowness is only to ready to absorb the tragic clinging moisture of it's stern opage deathly fumes. Bitterness, Immensity in Sorrow's Purity We are the pained members of this lost unique burning species scattered everywhere in secret places like lonely cigarette ashes glowing like their former soft tranquil silent blaze Hearts & minds too great to bear their worldly burden of longing alone, we heave in desperation to flame skyward but are hopelessly glued to sad earth. Red cone of still fire quiet in the surrounding night offers only a small placid illumination visible inkling of the vast combustions taking place within, Symbol in the night of our drugged pitied insufficient comfort smoking away a shaded life that lacks co-ordination But I cannot be saved. About Shimon Palmer "Well I came across your site here & decided I could not continue to exist without first sending you a few of my poems. My name is Shimon Palmer & I live in Israel, currently in Kibbutz Alumim in the South. Fucking boring. Been living here since 91 when I came to Kiryat Arbah with my family. I was born in 1975 in Mich. I recently finished the army in infantry (Nahal if you know what that means & that is also why I am on the kibbutz). My writing has appeared in various issues of Arc in Israel & on the web but I haven't really published much & this makes me sad so now that I am finally done with that voracious army I decided I might as well get things going."
