The Liar Factor
By Sharleen Leahey

This poem was written after viewing an appalling program on Fox Network Television called the O'Reilly Factor.
Nov 31 2001

War fever has gripped the nation
TV networks spread the contagion
Doesnıt matter what channel you choose
Weıre one voice now and thatıs The News
On Fox Tonight the host grins ear to ear
So excited, almost out of his chair

Enduring Freedom our Residentıs crusade
'Cause God Blesses America and ainıt war great?
Itıs a manıs job and itıs gotta be done
Weıre gonna wipe out evil, and ya know, this is kind of fun!

My guest is a general retired but so wise
Our latest weapons heıs here to describe
Carpet, cluster, how about those cruise?
General, is it true we might pull out our nukes?
Becoming stimulated, his hormones in a rage
The general leans close to the reporterıs face
Under a little toup?e, slightly off his head
Coming your way in an orgasm of death
He grins as he bellows in no uncertain terms
Nukes are no problem . . . hey, theyıre usinı germs!

General I know weıre all united
But thereıs an argument brewinı over whom next weıre fightinı
It seems Colin Powell and the Pentagon heads
Are clashing over whoıs gonna be dead
After we finish off Afghanistan
Whoıs next on the list, do we have a plan?
So many options, whom to attack
At least we can all agree on Iraq!
Syria, Sudan, Indonesia, Iran
To which terror states should we put an end?

So tune in next time for our next serving of lies
Afghan children are dying but hey, those ratings are high!
