MINUTE VIDEO-POEMS

by Elazar

out of the sea
emerges a monster

offshore experiments
conducted by big black monkey's daddy
awakens
big black monkey
in search of little white blondeeny
with the blues eyes,

asleep
in the jungle of maternity
big black monkey,
with his 24inch pecker,
haunt of every young damsels dweems
on bananna beach in tel aviv.

Someone calls the police
because the monkey won't go away.
nobody knows what to do, so
they give him a knas [ticket]
and decide to ignore him.

[nothing else happens]

3 MINUTE VIDEOPOEM [MVDP]

Action begins in colorful garbage
images of hands reaching
for something to eat.

A large machine is viewed approaching
traffic on allenby
then quiet again.

Increases into evening pulsating
dark lights
local cafes
late evening man reading at home
artist painting in his studio

soft tense light of morning facing Jaffa
the land still asleep
the flow of the sea still fresh from ancient times

see a rabbit on the beach
sunset and the flow of people

5MVDP - OPEN ROAD RIPPLE KITSCH

A LONG EMPTY ROAD IN THE COUNTRY
A MAN STOPS TO REMOVE A PEBBLE FROM HIS SHOE
HE THROWS THE PEBBLE IN A POND
THE POND RIPPLES TO INFINITY'
WASHES UP ON OLD TENEMENTS
AS IT EBBS TO DISSOLUTION
OVERCAST EARLY EVENING SKY
CHILDREN WATCHING THE STORM FROM A WINDOW

OTHER IMAGES EMANATE FROM RIPPLES
CONTEMPORARY IMAGES OF NEWS
MIXED WITH FLASHBACK
TO MAN ON ROAD
IMAGES OF A PERSONAL NATURE
SELECTED AT RANDOM
IMAGES OF

DISINTEGRATION

DISAPPEARANCE

THE SEQUENCE ENDS WITH TWO HANDS TOUCHING.
ENDS ON A BANK
WHERE A GIRL IS SLEEPING
ENDS IN A JAIL WHERE MICE ARE CREEPING

ENDS ASLEEP AS A CHILD
IN ITS MOTHER'S ARMS
ENDS WHEREVER IT ENDS
DOESN'T BOTHER BEGINNING
RATHER NOT BEGINNING AT ALL
EXCEPT FOR THE FLASH OF IT
WE MEAN THAT IT LIVED, WAS LIVING
WHEN WE TOUCHED IT

NOTHING MORE

THE ONLY MORE IS WHEN IT COMES

MVDP

A young man visits his doctor to seek advice on making love daily,
whether it might not be unhealthy.
Turns out to be the doctors wife,
gets a heart attack
and winds up under her husband's knife
on the operating table.

This nightmare ends in the shuk HaCarmel
under the butcher's knife.

MVDP

Berashite

View of mist and cloud
nude bodies
early evening
a game of hide and seek
in a garden

making love
eating fruit
sound of marching soldiers
ends with
hidden without being found.
ends with
being found without hidden
ends with
who will be first
climbing the ladder to the moon

DAILY news

the problem with futurism
has no future
because the future is just as
filled with nostalgia
as the past
it stinks of motivation/disintegration
of esoteric existentialism

the problem with modernism
and postmodernism
is a lack of definition
the problem with romance
in art
is
whether or not he can get a hard-on
and how long
it will
last.
try working these problems out in yr sleep
saves the day for thinking working fucking eating
saves the day for drinking water

we know the penis has a mind of its own
you tell it south goes north
up goes don't
and up again with a little encouragement
and this little encouragement is called philosophy
and criticism
and sometimes we need this business to know something
about that part of ourselves
that keeps demanding attention and forethought/foreplay
because you know gets confused which way makes
for a lousy day

so you got to wait I know you can't stand the wait
nobody likes it but it's still better
than bringing the whole house down
around yr ears
it could take years
to write another manual for survival.

Anyone who cares about the people makes art peopled
anyone who cares about their children must children their peace
by sacrificing their own,
only their own
otherwise don't invade us with yr language
we have a language of our own our own
poets can be dictators when they live too much alone
artists old wives
tales of quick sales and paradise
it's hard to open yr eyes in the morning and look at yrself naked.

21.09..97

so tired?
worked all day
for a day's pay
and tomorrow, I have to give it away.
