Poetry || SubmissionsKosovaBy Jayseth Guberman ""The writer's role is not free of difficult duties. By definition he cannot put himself today in the service of those who make history; he is at the service of those who suffer it.--Albert Camus (1913-1960) we drop bombs on places we can't even pronounce and pronounce "Victory!" as if it was just that easy, not realizing that this is no way to till soil that has produced twenty generations of a hateful bumper crop, where the most common garden variety is known by its linnaean classification "Rigor mortis mortis," and the best garden is a shallow pit and each gardener will defend their pits to the last "Baby's Breath." Jayseth Guberman can be contacted at yofijr@hotmail.com or via his website "A History of Interruptions" located at http://321website.com/members/home/data/yofijr/homepage.html This poem was written on 30 March
1999.
