Let us not forget on Yitzhak's Third

Philip Hyams

Let us not forget on Yitzhak's third as the assassins gather

shedding crocodile tears
their own fears suddenly relevant
to the terror they helped foster
as they walked before Yitzhak's
mock coffin in their quest for
power created from blood libel

Let us not forget on Yitzhak's third as the assassins gather

But the dead know
for they have paid the price
for believing
in order that Peace may live again
in the hearts of us all

Let us not forget on Yitzhak's third as the assassins gather

and their false tears
desecrate the earth of Har Herzl
where our friend lies in stillness
