Poetry || SubmissionsPoem by Helen Shella Mendoza "Knock knock are you there? It's me Death"I heard a knock one night, It was frightening and loud It melts my whole identity It smashes the golden box I was once holding. The claw the man was holding Was pressed againts my shoulders I was shocked and amused I was waiting for this to come I know how to relinquish the pain I suffered for almost 16 yrs of living Its smiling crookedly at me And i never realized I was flying It brightens the path to darkness I was ceased by the breathless attempt Of this man holding the claw He was gone, and I was with him. I was panting hard I was in bed and sweating It was a dream for all I knew And was dissapointed it wasn't true. Helen Shella Mendoza is a 16 yr old student at Canossa Academy in the Philippines. She says she "wanted to share my ideas in a deeper and most appreciated way that no one in my place fathoms!" You can write to her at helen_shellam@hotmail.com Today's Situation
