A Thin Boy Who Takes To Scudding

By Daniel Gallik

In a narcotic yodel she says
come with me to the hills,
the melancholy shocks of home.
He goes, never liked emotive
tales. Always, just wanted
to kiss you tenderly, never
make love to you and your
deepening, chest-thrown tales.
Gothic fairy tales never en-

tered his thin mind. A ballad
never threw him. Applachia
had hills. Those were enough
of work for him. She spoke,
I am as superb as uncommercial
love. He throws her as he
leaves, just wanted you to
like me. Lurking in her over-
filled scrapbook were prints

of flat landscapes her dad
took one time he was in Mani-
toba. When he was over, lover
had always gone to them. She
said, I have been released,
never have been loved, all
of me. So, I will cry, sit
and wait for another to come
to these hills, find all of me.

A Burlesque Of Repeat Performances

Lin had this divorce album,
pictures from when her and
Jim hired lawyers, and she
showed it to everyone. No

one liked this move, and
said, you sure ya wanna let
me see that? Lin was proud
she handled all-this-life-

in-America-stuff well. Jim
would come over after work
to see her, to basically see
if she was okay. He would

say, yo lin, all things doin
fine here in our apt. near
Hough? Lin was studded in an
age of great symbolic imports.

She handled her wrinkles as
she did the morning news.
With not much worry. She
said, I got tight connection

to my heart, and when I find
love it will come to me. She
didn't know that love was al-
ready at her abode, still there.

Before The Millennium Hit In Northern Ohio

I owe nothing to the prefab
says Jonni as he heads over
to the really nameless bar on
9th. Lin keeps up with him
and says I'm no garage charm
like you think I am. To
which J man goes I wish you
to be an alternate take, but
don't fight it. You're my
one true love. At that one
moment he is also thinking
about the costs of the new
house he is building for a
middle-classer who manages
the KMart closing in Hough.

All in all the traffic is a
mess and that is what is real
important in this old world.
A multi-layered opus plays
on the chipped streets in
the steel town. Jonni goes
I really am an usher with
a lavish palate and I like
love. A hell of a lot. L
woman cranks, I am scared
of Columbus and its college
kids smoking hash. J, I
wanna keep here, so I can
black talk in old Cleveburg.
And become a hero then too.
