Echo of Gentle Chimes
G.R.Bradwaj
When the loved ones walk no more
Soft steps echo a gentle chime
Lingering love waits near the door
While eyes try pierce the veil of time.
When thoughts wander over ones no more
Love smites lightly on memory’s gong
Echoes sound, how much more, how much more
Life together was the light in our song.
When images stoke the fires of memory
Images become… dropped anchors in the sea
The heart beats thud ever so loudly
Even sorrow wonders, whose it can be?
When tears glide ever so smoothly
Over the way how life’s journey went
Time’s gentle chimes ring ever so softly
It seems as if life itself was spent.
