Born in Moscow,1929.
Graduate of Academy of Art in Moscow 1955.
Immigrated to Israel in 1972 and since then has lived in Jerusalem.
The artist has created more than seventy monumental works ranging from frescos and vitrages,to sculptures and mosaics in Russia, Israel, Europe and the U.S.
He has received numerous awards and distinction, including:
1996 - was awarded for Outstanding Achievements in Arts and the Lifetime Contribution to the International Art Comunity and to the Public at Large by the "Guzik" foundation, U.S.A.
1995 - was nominated as "International Man of the Year in Monumental and Decorative Art"
by the International Biographical Center in Cambridge, England.
1984 - awarded with the "Statue of Victory," World Culture Foundation, Parma, Italy.
1982 - Gold Medal " For Artistic Merit," International Parliament For Safety and Peace U.S.
1980 - nominated as a member of Academia Italia delle Arti e del Lavoro and awarded the Academy Gold Medal
1967 - First Rank Diploma of Artistic Found for Creation of Monumental Mosaics, Moscow
His Monograph, Lev Syrkin, consists of over 100 color plates, 120 black and white plates and a related English text. It was printed in edition of 1,250 copies, with 250 selected, numbered and signed by the artist. The Monograph is not distributed to the bookshops, but may be purchased directly from the Artist.
