The Center's goals include: Defending the rights of Palestinian workers both in Israel and under the Palestinian Authority. Raising awareness within the labor force of the principle of respect and obedience to the law by the three main actors involved in the labor market (workers, employers and the state) through workshops, training, lectures, outreach programs and seminars. Mobilizing the Palestinian labor force to actively participate in the process of building a democratic civil society based on respect of legal and human rights. Promoting economic and social rights, monitoring and reporting on human rights violations in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. Publishing pamphlets and brochures concerning worker's rights in different fields and for different groups. In addition, the Center conducts research on democracy, economics, social rights and freedom of association.

Today's Situation

"The army that will defeat terrorism doesn't wear uniforms, or drive Humvees, or calls in air-strikes. It doesn't have a high command, or high security, or a high budget. The army that can defeat terrorism does battle quietly, clearing minefields and vaccinating children. It undermines military dictatorships and military lobbyists. It subverts sweatshops and special interests.Where people feel powerless, it helps them organize for change, and where people are powerful, it reminds them of their responsibility." ~~~~ Author Unknown ~~~~
