Let me tell you about this place where I live,
above the parking lots or on the beach. At the cafe
and overlooking the highway, on the street
and always at work, this place is busy - even at night,
under us the dunes and above us satellites, even at dawn,
when the blue light carries a donkey's bray
halfway across the city if not the country.
