5759 Peace Caravan from Israel to Jordan We are an open group of individuals of no political bias from around the world who believe in Peace Between All Beings and want to make an effort to help this happen. Last year, some of us decided to start action in the Middle East, where we felt it was most urgently needed. We traveled together from Israel to the Gaza Strip and planted a park of fruit trees together with the local people and had a great celebration for peace. It was overwhelming to feel the positive effect of this simple action. At the beginning of January 1999, we will travel together with any sort of nature-friendly transportation, (including bicycles, horses, donkeys, camels and the eight-person "Conference Bicycle" from Amsterdam) from the Dead Sea in Israel to Aqabah on the Red Sea in Jordan. There we shall make a big celebration in every possible way: planting trees, exhibitions of peace flags, performances, workshops and healings. We will be meeting at the Tel Aviv Dolphinarium on December 31, 1998 at 12:00 GMT, where the third annual World Peace and Healing Meditation and musical celebration in Israel will take place. This event is held simultaneously in many countries worldwide. The caravan will start by the Dead Sea and travel along a desert road about 250 km. to Aqabah, stopping every 20-25 km. for night camp, where people from nearby villages can join us for food-circle, music, healing, discussion and to give support in any possible way. Each village may send trees and plants for the Peace Park we intend to plant in Jordan. Television crews from Israel and Europe will be filming the caravan. This Happening is open to all peace-lovers who want to help make a positive change in our world. Please help in any way (painting peace flags, joining the caravan, funding etc.) to make this dream come true.
